Our first visit to a public school
Yesterday, we made our first visit to a public elementary school in Montgomery County, Maryland to provide new winter clothing items. Many of the children at the school come from low-income families and are eligible for free and reduced meals.
We brought 14 pairs of children’s gloves and 14 children’s winter hats for the neediest kids in the school. The teachers placed the winter clothing items in the students’ backpacks to take home with them.
Schools like this will be a great place for us to identify children who are in need of winter clothing items. We are working with school administrators and teachers to help us give clothing to children that are truly in need. The teachers and administrators work these kids everyday and understand their current living situations.
