What Happens When You Hand Out Water Bottles to Strangers?

Last weekend, I went to Farragut Square in DC with my friend Massoud, the founder of Make DC Smile to hand out some free bottles of water.

Why, you ask?

Why not? It was a hot day, and everyone could use some water. Our goal was just to spread some positivity, make some smiles, and see how people reacted.

So how did it go?

It was magic. People were surprised. We cheered people up, lifted their spirits. We shared laughs and stories with people we never would have met. We created a lot of smiles with just a few cases of water bottles.

The experiment was a ton of fun, and I’m excited to do this more often!

Massoud is also working on a project where he asks 1 stranger each day “What Make You Smile?”

Make DC Smile and Massoud have many exciting projects in the works. They are most known for holding signs during rush hour traffic to spread positivity. I highly recommend ‘liking’ the Make DC Smile facebook page to stay updated on what they are doing!
